Delete Your Account
Last Updated: August 22, 2026
This page explains how to delete your I'm the Commish account and the data associated with it. You can delete your account directly in the app, or request deletion by email if you no longer have the app installed.
Option 1: Delete Your Account in the App (Fastest)
- Open I'm the Commish and go to the Profile tab.
- Scroll to the Account section.
- Tap Delete Account.
- Confirm that you want to delete your account.
Your account is deactivated immediately and you are signed out of the app. There is a 30-day grace period: if you open the app again within 30 days and choose to restore your account, it is reactivated with nothing lost. After 30 days your personal information is permanently erased and the account cannot be recovered.
Option 2: Request Deletion by Email
If you no longer have the app installed or are unable to sign in, you can request deletion by email. Send a message to:
Email: [Click to reveal]
Please include the following so we can locate your account:
- Subject line: Delete my account
- The username shown on the Profile tab of the app
Deletion requests sent by email are processed within 30 days.
What Is Deleted
When the 30-day grace period ends, we permanently erase:
- Your email address and your first and last name, if you provided them
- Your phone number and profile photo, if you provided them
- Your device identifiers, so the account can no longer be linked to your phone
- Your push notification token (removed as soon as you request deletion, so notifications stop immediately)
- Any password or verification tokens associated with the account
What Is Retained
- Your username. It stays on the standings, pick history, and chat messages of contests you took part in, so the other members' results remain intact. No other profile information is attached to it.
- Your picks, contest memberships, and chat messages, attributed to that username only.
- Server logs and backups, which may contain your data for up to 30 days after erasure. After that period they are purged.
If you would like your username changed to something that does not identify you before you delete the account, change it on the Profile tab first. The new username is what remains on record.
